Chiesa di San Nicolò l'Arena, Catania

25/10/2026

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Kadmonia and Associazione Musicale Etnea return to the Chiesa di San Nicolò l'Arena with Renato Grieco, who will present the preview of Ombrolurna, and Gianni Gebbia.

Renato Grieco's work explores temporal tension and psychoacoustics. Under the name @___knn___ he has developed a research practice in musique concrète, approaching sound poetry from its most evocative and abstract side. In his music, ancient instruments, speculative folklore and sculptural spaces coexist in orchestrations that invite the listener to perceive sound in unexpected ways. His appearances include B'A, Prada Frames, Assembly at Somerset House and Centro Pecci in 2026; the Biennale Teatro di Venezia in 2025, the Biennale Danza in 2023, Fondazione ICA in 2023 and Radiophrenia for Rewire in 2022.

Gianni Gebbia is a saxophonist, flautist and composer from Palermo, active since the 1980s in creative jazz and improvised music. Self-taught, he has developed a personal research on solo saxophone and circular breathing, which allows him to create continuous sound flows. His path crosses music, theatre and the other arts, with collaborations including Heiner Goebbels, Fred Frith and Jim O'Rourke.

In Petrichor, his recent solo work, saxophone, bansuri flutes and electronics meet in a music made of breaths, shades and small transformations.
