Racina is a project born at the intersection of natural wine, agriculture, gastronomic culture, and the arts. It considers wine and food not as products, but as instruments for reading the territory, its environmental transformations, the knowledge, and the communities that inhabit it.
Fava beans, one of the Mediterranean’s oldest and most enigmatic foods, have long been woven into the region’s history, folklore, and rituals. Hosted at Casa Talia in Modica, this gathering brought together stories of tradition, craftsmanship, and place through a conversation with Salvatore Cassarino (Confraternita delle Fave), Emma Petriliggieri of the renowned Modica chocolate maker Donna Elvira, and biodynamic winemaker Niccolò Grippaldi from Enna. Moderated by Davide Fede, the event offered a narrative journey through food, wine, and collective storytelling, using taste and shared experiences to explore the cultural roots and living heritage of the Mediterranean.
